Scholarship Requirements
- Minimum 3.0 GPA for High School Seniors
- Minimum 2.8 GPA for Undergraduate/Graduate Students
- Is an established resident of San Diego County at time of application
- LGBTQ+ high school senior continuing to full-time** undergraduate study or
- LGBTQ+ full-time** graduate student
- Must attend the Awards Ceremony
** We will consider half-time applicants with an explanation of the circumstances that prevents you from attending full-time.
Award of all scholarships will be calculated upon the following criteria:
- A well-written application essay
- Demonstration of financial need
- A history of strong academic achievement
- Compliance with all application requirements

- Complete the online scholarship application form
- Complete the general essay for all applicants (250 word minimum, 1000 words maximum)
- Submit one (1) signed letter of recommendation. We do not accept unsigned or undated letters of recommendation. No exceptions.
- Email a copy of current unofficial transcript to scholarships@pflagsdc.org

Within the application form, the following essay questions must be answered in your own words and typed in English with no spelling or grammatical errors. Essays are limited to a minimum of 250 words to a maximum of 1000 words. Both questions must be answered to be considered:
- Describe something you have done in recent years that has made a positive impact in your community.
- How do you plan to support your community in the future?
