An understanding of diversity in sexual orientation and gender identities enables us to recognize and “unlearn” societal biases and misconceptions. Our ongoing education allows us to fully recognize and embrace all diversity to support and affirm LGBTQ+ individuals.
Sharing our PFLAG education enlightens others about the human experiences of LGBTQ+ people in our families. Our privilege to speak out as allies is transformative. We are eager to share what we’ve learned in the hope of making the world a kinder and safer place for them.

Support Groups
PFLAG San Diego County is holding meetings in-person and virtually. Our support groups provide a judgement-free and welcoming space where parents, families, or friends can share their personal stories and ask questions and to learn from others’ journeys, too. LGBTQ+ people can speak of their efforts and experiences in seeking parental understanding and acceptance. First time group visitors who need time are welcome to just listen in without sharing.
