International Association of Sexually Diverse Families
I am so excited to let you all know about this wonderful convention in June of 2013 in Lima, Peru. It's from the group called International Association of Sexually Diverse Families and I was lucky enough to attend this in Chile 3 years ago.
This is an event in Spanish with panels and workshops for 3 days and it culminates with all the representatives there from all the countries marching in Lima's Gay Pride parade.
For me three years ago that was the most exciting thing (other than the birth of my children) that I have ever experienced. I met wonderful people that I keep in touch and share articles with all over the world.
If there is a person that wants to attend but needs help, we have a limited number of scholarships that they can apply for through Nila Marrone at nilamarrone@gmail.com
Please feel free to share this with other organizations. We are also looking for organizations that will help us monetarily in order to offer more scholarships.
Tengo el gran placer de invitarlos a todos a Lima, Perú el próximo año (*28-30 de Junio, 2012*). Hace tres años tuve la suerte de participar en la convención en Chile y fue lo más maravilloso que he hecho en mi vida. La organización se llama Asociación Internacional de Familias por la Diversidad Sexual (FDS) http://www.familiasporladiversidad.org/ Los miembros son personas LGBT o personas con hijos LGBT de países de habla hispana, Latinos en EEUU, Brasil y Portugal.
Son tres días en los cuales asistimos a talleres, juntas de discusiones e intercambiamos información que nos puede ayudar en nuestros respectivos países. El ultimo día participaremos en la marcha 12 del Orgullo de la ciudad de Lima, cuando marchamos hace tres años en Chile fue algo tan bello pues tantas personas jóvenes abrazándonos y tomándonos fotos, pues sus padres no los aceptaban todavía. Nunca pensé que hubiera tanta gente participando en esa marcha.
Pronto les mandaremos los formularios donde pueden registrarse. Si no tienen recursos y necesitan algo de ayuda tendremos algunas becas disponibles según la necesidad de cada individuo.
